Romance & Valentine's FAQs
Valentine's Day, anniversaries, engagements and every quiet moment in between — this page answers the questions we hear most when you are sending something romantic. For our full terms see the Delivery Policy.
Current for the romance season through January 2027.
Ordering
When should I order?
As early as you can. Our most-loved bouquets and hampers sell out first during peak romance periods, and ordering ahead means you get the arrangement you actually wanted rather than the one still in stock.
For everyday romance, order by 3:50 PM for same-day delivery in Nairobi and Nairobi Environs, or by 3:50 PM the day before for next-day delivery anywhere else in Kenya.
What are the cut-off times around Valentine's Day?
During Valentine's week our cut-offs are brought forward and same-day delivery may be capped or suspended once we are at capacity. The exact cut-offs for the season are published on this page and on our Delivery Policy in the first week of February, and shared with newsletter subscribers first.
Please do not leave an upcountry Valentine's order to the last day. Fargo Courier does not deliver on Sundays or public holidays, so if 14 February falls on a Sunday your gift must travel earlier in the week.
Can I customise a package during peak season?
Not during Valentine's week itself. Our florists and creative team design a full range of romantic arrangements and hampers ahead of the season, and during peak we build exactly what you see on the website so that every order goes out on time. Outside peak periods we are very happy to talk about something bespoke — write to diana@purpink.co.ke.
Can I order on WhatsApp or social media?
Outside peak, yes — call or WhatsApp 0702 100 100. During Valentine's week please order on the website. It is faster and more accurate, and it protects your order from getting caught in the queue of calls and messages. Our team is on hand if you get stuck at any point.
Delivery
What time will my gift arrive?
You choose a delivery slot at checkout — 8:00–11:00 AM, 11:00 AM–2:00 PM, 2:00–4:00 PM or 4:00–6:00 PM. Each slot closes ten minutes before it begins.
On Valentine's Day itself, slots become indicative rather than guaranteed. Volumes are many times a normal day, and we may deliver at any point during the day. Your gift will still arrive on the date you chose.
Can I request an exact delivery time?
Not an exact time, but Express Delivery (KES 1,000, Nairobi only) makes your gift the first drop-off within your chosen slot. Express is not available for cakes, cupcakes, personalised items or deliveries outside Nairobi, and it may be suspended on Valentine's Day itself.
Can I send fresh flowers outside Nairobi?
Yes — next day through Fargo Courier at KES 650, ordered by 3:50 PM the day before. Fargo set their own routing, so we cannot narrow a delivery time. Some arrangements do not travel well; check the product description before ordering.
Fargo do not deliver on Sundays or public holidays. Around Valentine's Day, plan the delivery for a working day either side rather than the 14th itself if that date falls on a Sunday.
Can I get something delivered today in Mombasa, Diani, Kisumu or Eldoret?
Often, yes. We work with flight partners and can arrange same-day delivery to a number of towns outside Nairobi. This cannot be booked at checkout — call or WhatsApp 0702 100 100 and we will confirm and quote before you pay.
Can I change the delivery address after ordering?
Yes, and the earlier the better. Once an order has been dispatched, a change means the rider completes their round first and returns the gift to us before it can be reassigned, which usually pushes delivery to the next available slot. Address changes apply to Nairobi deliveries; for upcountry orders already with Fargo, we cannot redirect the parcel.
What if the recipient is not there?
That is your call, and it is worth thinking about for a surprise. If you tell us at checkout that we may leave the gift with a neighbour, the gate, estate security or an office reception, we will do so and photograph the handover. Otherwise the rider waits up to 10 minutes, tries calling and texting, and brings the gift back to us — and redelivery is chargeable.
Surprises and discretion
Can I send it anonymously?
Yes. Ask us not to disclose your details and we keep them off everything the recipient sees. We do gently suggest telling them yourself afterwards — most people rather want to know. We still need your contact details internally for delivery coordination.
Will the price be on the delivery note?
No. Our riders carry a delivery note showing the recipient and the contents. Prices are never shown.
Can I see a photo of my gift before it goes out?
Outside peak season, yes — call 0702 100 100 and we will send you a photo before dispatch. During Valentine's week we cannot do this for every order, but what you selected on the website is what will be delivered. If anything needs to change, our team will contact you first.
Will it look exactly like the picture?
That is the aim. Fresh flowers are seasonal, and occasionally a stem shortage means a substitution — in which case we match the value, style and colour palette, and the quality of your order is maintained.
Gifts that need extra time
| Gift type | Order by |
|---|---|
| Flowers, hampers and standard gifts | The slot cut-off on the day |
| Cakes | 12:00 noon for next-day delivery; after noon, 48 hours |
| Cupcakes | 48 hours |
| Personalised and engraved gifts | One working day, with artwork approved before 6:00 PM |
Personalised romantic gifts — engraved glasses, printed cushions, photo gifts — are the ones people most often leave too late. They need a full working day and cannot be rushed through on Express.
