Use a clean vase
Sunflowers are sensitive to bacteria, so always ensure the vase is thoroughly cleaned before placing them in water. -
Hydrate immediately
Sunflowers are heavy drinkers and need plenty of water to stay fresh. Place them in water as soon as possible after receiving them. -
Prepare the water properly
- Use approx. 1 litre of fresh water.
- Add the provided flower food to help nourish the blooms.

Change the water regularly
Change the water every 2 days and re-cut about 1 cm off the stems each time to help improve water absorption.
Reviving wilted sunflowers
If your sunflowers start to wilt, place them in warm water for 5–10 minutes, then return them to fresh, normal-temperature water.

How to Care for Your Flowers
To keep your flowers looking fresh and beautiful for as long as possible:
- Trim the stems — Cut 2–3 cm off the bottom at a 45° angle as soon as they arrive.
- Use a clean vase — Fill with cool, fresh water. Change the water every 2 days.
- Remove lower leaves — Strip any leaves that sit below the waterline to prevent bacteria.
- Keep them cool — Place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and ripening fruit.
- Mist lightly — A light spray of water on the petals each morning keeps them hydrated.
- Feed them — Use the flower food sachet included in your delivery for longer life.
This is today I received the flowers and this is how they looked if you didn’t have any fresh sunflowers you could have communicated!! I Need my refund this is theft!!!product advertised isn’t the one delivered!!!

I’ve been a loyal customer of Purpink for over 7 years, which makes this experience even more disappointing.
I purchased a bouquet of sunflowers, and they wilted completely within just two days. This is unacceptable for flowers that are supposed to be fresh and of premium quality. What made the situation worse is that other flowers from a different bouquet, kept in the exact same environment and vase conditions, were still perfectly fine — clearly showing that the issue was with the quality of the sunflowers provided by Purpink.
When I reached out to them, instead of taking responsibility or offering a replacement, they blamed how the flowers were stored. They suggested trimming stems and adjusting water levels, essentially shifting the blame to the customer rather than addressing the obvious quality issue. This response felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially for a long-standing customer.
Fresh sunflowers should last at least 5–7 days with normal care, not collapse within 48 hours.
I’ve attached photos showing the flowers when received and how quickly they deteriorated. The difference speaks for itself.
Very disappointing experience. Based on this, I cannot confidently recommend Purpink anymore. Customer loyalty and quality assurance clearly do not matter to them as much as they should.
